About CBSE class 10 social science sample paper 2022-23

The paper starts with a few instructions for the students. it is suggested to read all instructions very carefully before reading any questions to avoid any last minute’s panic in the exam hall. As CBSE Class 10 Session 2022-2023 has begun and students must go through the CBSE Class 10 social Science Sample Paper 2023 released by CBSE for the academic year 2022-23. The CBSE Class 10  social Science Board Exam will be of descriptive nature for which the time allotted is 3 hours for 39 questions. The question paper consists of 39 questions divided into 5 sections. The sample 39 questions divided into 5 sections. The sample pattern and the total weightage, where mixed types of questions are given. In the mixed questions there are very short type, short answer types questions, case study based and long answer types of questions.

Type of questions in CBSE Class 10 Science Sample Question Paper 2022-23 

• 20 objective question carrying 1 marks each
• 4 very shorts type question carrying 2 marks each
• 5 shorts type question carrying 3 marks each
• 4 long types questions carrying 5 marks each
• 3 case based types question carrying 4 marks
• 1 map based question carrying 5 marks

General Instructions :

 i. Question paper comprises Six Sections – A, B, C, D, E and F. There are 37 questions in the question paper. All questions are compulsory.

ii. Section A – From question 1 to 20 are MCQs of 1 mark each.

iii. Section B – Question no. 21 to 24 are Very Short Answer Type Questions, carrying 2 marks each. Answer to each question should not exceed 40 words.

 iv. Section C contains Q.25to Q.29 are Short Answer Type Questions, carrying 3 marks each. Answer to each question should not exceed 60 words

v. Section D – Question no. 30 to 33 are long answer type questions, carrying 5 marks each. Answer to each question should not exceed 120 words.

 vi. Section-E - Questions no from 34 to 36 are case based questions with three sub questions and are of 4 marks each

vii. Section F – Question no. 37 is map based, carrying 5 marks with two parts, 37a from History (2 marks) and 37b from Geography (3 marks).

 viii. There is no overall choice in the question paper. However, an internal choice has been provided in few questions. Only one of the choices in such questions have to be attempted.

ix. In addition to this, separate instructions are given with each section and question, wherever necessary
